Call for applications for a PhD position at Cluj School of Public Health

We are searching for an MA graduate interested to undertake PhD studies in public health and work on our newly funded project – “An mHealth intervention to prevent smoking uptake after birth”.


Your responsibilities:

Support the implementation of the above-mentioned research project (i.e. research instrument development, conduct interviews, develop study operating procedures)

Support of lectures and seminars,

Development of new research proposals,

Development of scientific publications;


Your profile:

Romanian citizen,

Master Degree in public health, research design, sociology, communication, psychology, or a related discipline,

Good English language skills,

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to take on responsibility,

Willingness to work in an inter-cultural and international environment;


We offer:

Enrollment as a full time PhD student (monthly scholarship, no tuition) in the Doctoral School of Administration and Public Policies, Department of Public Health, College of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences, Babes-Bolyai University,

A part-time Research Assistant position in our newly funded research project,

A dynamic & well-equipped research environment,

Personal work space at Cluj School of Public Health;


Requirements of a PhD position:

Attend courses from the doctoral program and monthly meetings with PhD coordinator,

Teach 1 seminar/semester in the Public Health Bachelor Program,

Publish peer-reviewed manuscripts (1 ISI and 1 BDI),

Prepare at least 1 full grant application;

Coordinates of two persons willing to send a letter of recommendation,

Copy of your MA diploma (or certificate, if you graduated this year and your diploma has not yet been released);


Eligible candidates

will be contacted to participate in an interview on August 17th. If selected, the candidate will have to submit his/her paperwork (September 4-8) for the PhD admission contest (September 11-22).
