Manuscript Preparation

Initial submission should include a cover letter that contains: (1) why the submission is appropriate for the journal, (2) what the paper adds to the current knowledge, (3) confirmation that the paper has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere, and (4) suggest two potential reviewers.

The first page should include: the title, the names and affiliations of all authors, including name of institution(s) and department(s), email addresses of all authors, key words and the addresses for correspondence.

The abstract should be structured (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) and should not exceed 300 words, including all 4 headings. Add between five to six keywords that describe your paper.

The manuscript should be double-spaced, size 12, Times New Roman font, with margins of at least one inch on all sides and pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. All articles should be written in English (American or British). Please be consistent in your writing. All manuscripts that report on studies involving human subjects require that an institutional review board approval and informed consent are documented in the paper.

Manuscript sections: Original research articles should, if applicable, follow the structure of: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion.

Tables: All tables should be sent as editable text and should be placed near the relevant section in the article. Each table should have a descriptive heading and should be numbered consecutively.

Acknowledgements: Any contribution of others to the work should be acknowledged in the paper.

References: The journal follows APA style of referencing. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text can also be found in the reference list (and vice-versa).  You can find more information on the use of APA style at APA Style.

Type of articles

• Original Research

An original research article must follow the conventional IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion).

Introduction:  should be brief and state the objectives of your paper. It should provide background that give readers enough context on your topic and allow them to understand the significance of the study.

Materials and methods: should be detailed enough to permit the reproduction of work. If you have already published your methods elsewhere, it must be indicated by a reference.

Results: make sure to address your main results and try to be clear and accurate.

Discussion: discuss the implications of your results and emphasize novel findings in relation to previous related studies. Also, indicate recommendations and future research.

• Reviews

Review papers include meta-analysis and systematic review. The journal adheres to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) or to Cochrane guidelines. All systematic reviews and meta-analyses submitted should follow the guidelines mentioned above.

• Reports

We welcome reports on programs conducted at the local/national/international level, in the field of Public Health. The reports  should follow the same format as original articles and should be up to 1000 words and have no more than one table/figure. The report should include an unstructured abstract, not exceeding 100 words. The report should have no more than 10 references.

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that you have carefully read and followed the guidelines provided above. Manuscripts that do not follow these guidelines may be returned.
